The vibrant Church Street Marketplace is experiencing a revival of great independent businesses and is a great way to spend an afternoon or weekend. The pedestrian only zone makes it family friendly too!

A former McDonald’s, the Farmhouse Tap & Grill, just off of Church Street, has become a local favorite. They are committed to serving only delicious locally sourced foods and a list of contributing farms can be found on their menu!

Great local food at SO MANY farmer’s markets! The Burlington Farmer’s Market continues to expand and now offers both winter and summer markets on Saturday mornings. In addition Slow Food Vermont has just begun a mid-week market in City Hall Park.

Popular as one of the few independent bookstores, Phoenix Books has become a hot spot! Locals appreciate the cozy feel and local staff.
- Locally owned and operated Outdoor Gear Exchange recently replaced a big box store and now sits front and center on pedestrian only Church Street. The store has now expanded to two floors with an ever growing consignment section for bargain hunters!
